LAURA BRIEL SULLIVAN is a first-time author who believes that life has a soundtrack and that the best gifts are stories that find us when we need them most. Laura grew up in Massachusetts, on tales passed through generations, rainy afternoons in libraries and bookstores, summers on Martha’s Vineyard, and the spark of Mr. Voos’s fourth-grade reading class, where she fell in love with a thesaurus and turning a phrase.
A recovering financial-services executive, her career adventures led to a tricoastal life from the East Coast to the Bay Area and now outside of New Orleans—always somewhere near a river, bay, or bend.
When not writing the adventures of Princess Briel and friends, Laura still moonlights as strategy consultant at Fogbreak Advisors, supporting executives navigating organizational change and revenue strategies. She thrives on the illusion of progress, the belief in purpose, authentic views, and the irony that a poor speller with illegible handwriting loves writing.
Shortlisted in the Faulkner Society Wisdom Competition, Sailing with Angels: A Poetic Tale of Grief and Grace is a love letter to the characters who mentored her through life.
Laura divides her time between the Massachusetts and Mississippi coasts with the Southern half of the “Union of Mass-issippi,” her husband, Steve, and two loyal muses, William Hamilton and Moose. She is currently at work on Sailing with Alligators: A Poetic Tale of Grit and Gumption.
